In the fall of 2018, Drastic Measures was founded by students Lauren-Paige Smith and Elizabeth Allen for the sake of one true goal — creating a never-before-seen force of musical change on East Carolina University’s campus. 

 

As an organization, we pride ourselves as a co-ed a cappella group of undergraduate and graduate students at ECU. We aim to promote diversity and inclusivity by creating a space for our members to openly bond while showcasing their musical talents. 

 

Our style ranges from the pop hits of Jason Derulo and the sultry stylings of Adele, all the way to the funky classics of Michael Jackson. Since our debut, we’ve made a name for ourselves as a group with our dynamic stage presence, performing at on-campus events such as Homecoming Skit Night and the 2020 Campus Movie Fest. As for our own event lineup, we host invitationals and concerts every semester, bringing our audience the very best of contemporary a cappella with each of our stage performances. 

 

Today, you’re likely to find us rehearsing each week in Mendenhall or performing on campus and beyond. From our innovative compositions to the sense of familial unity among our members, you’re sure to find a group like no other when it comes to Drastic Measures -— a promise we’ve kept true for the last two years and counting. 🌹
